Large Woodblock Series

In 2024, I started a long-term series of large woodblock prints. The series explores black and white perceptions about Oregon’s complex history of environmental politics. Binary illusions of conservation versus development, man versus nature, and conservative versus liberal leave no room for the grey areas that are reality.

The first print depicts a larger than life Spotted Owl perched on a chainsaw. It is 24x48 inches and was printed at the 2024 Big Ink workshop hosted by Whiteaker Printmakers in Eugene, Oregon.

The series will showcase several controversial animals with near mythological status in Oregon’s cultural narrative. I plan to complete the second print in April 2026.
